Nigeria security operative foils fresh attempt to bomb Abuja

Some Terrorists had a fresh plot to plant bombs at the popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The plan has however been nullified, all thanks to special intelligence response team set up by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

This smart elite team, which consists of intelligence and operational officers of high competence, have so far arrested a total of 5 suspected terrorists. These suspects will be paraded before the media any moment from now and, thereafter charged to court in a couple of days, Daily sun reports.

According to information gathered, the terrorist were nabbed from their hideouts in karamajiji village, behind the National Military Cemetery along Abuja Airport Road and, Iddo village located directly behind the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja where they were planning on how to carry out their attacks in different parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

Two others were picked up from a hideout at Dan-Asato village, in Suleja, while another was picked up at Gauraka village, also in Suleja, a satellite town in Niger State, near Abuja.

Some items recovered from them according to a top security officer, were various kinds of chemicals which are used in the production of IDEs numbering over 30, plastic containers and a registered motor vehicle licence!

It was also reported that the special intelligence team recovered 15 bombs from 4 different locations mentioned.

A top security officer, who asked not to be named, told Daily Sun that the suspects, who are presently being interrogated and who had made useful statement, confessed that they also engaged in robbery attacks to raise money to buy materials needed to make bombs.

They made this confession that before they were arrested they were planning to carry out their attack on Wuse Market on Friday, October 9, a week after the Kuje and Nyanya attacks.
