“PMB: We are talking with Boko Haram over Chibok girls. But we need to ensure they are genuine leaders, then we negotiate,” Adesina tweeted. Adesina said this was made known by the president in Paris. The president is currently on an official visit to France to discuss security, investment among many others.
276 female students of Government Secondary School Chibok, Borno State were abducted from the hostels by members of Boko Haram terrorists. While 57 of the girls managed to escape from their abductors, 219 others are still held captive by the group since April 14, 2014 they were all abducted.
Previous efforts by the past government administration, led by Goodluck Jonathan to negotiate with the group failed leaving hopes dashed on the rescue of the girls.
